About Hermosillo Family Therapy Foundation: A Pathway to Healing & Growth
Expanding Access to Mental Health Care
At Hermosillo Family Therapy, we believe that quality mental health care should be accessible, culturally responsive, and rooted in the communities we serve. As our practice has grown, so has our commitment to reaching individuals and families who may experience barriers to receiving care, while also helping prepare the next generation of mental health professionals.
Our developing nonprofit initiative expands this mission beyond traditional psychotherapy services by creating opportunities for community outreach, mental health education, clinical training, and increased access to supportive services.

Our Mission
Our nonprofit initiative is being developed to increase access to compassionate, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed mental health resources for individuals, families, and communities who may otherwise experience barriers to care.
Our vision includes supporting communities impacted by trauma, family disruption and reunification, neurodivergence, chronic illness, grief, and other significant life experiences. We also hope to develop programming that supports Latino and underserved communities, first responders, military service members and their families, mental health professionals, and other helping professionals.
As the program grows, our work may include:
-
Community mental health education and outreach
-
Low-cost and accessible mental health services
-
Family support and reunification-focused programming
-
Workshops, prevention programs, and community resources
-
Partnerships with schools and community organizations
-
Support and wellness programming for first responders, military families, and helping professionals
-
Animal-assisted and human-animal connection initiatives
-
Training, mentorship, and professional development for future mental health professionals
Investing in Future Mental Health Professionals
An important part of our mission is creating a supportive training environment for students entering the mental health field.
Hermosillo Family Therapy serves as a clinical training site where students can develop their skills through structured education, observation, mentorship, clinical experience, and supervision. Students have opportunities to learn about culturally responsive care, trauma-informed treatment, documentation, ethics, assessment, treatment planning, clinical decision-making, and the realities of providing mental health services within a diverse community.
We believe increasing access to mental health care also means investing in the clinicians who will serve our communities in the future.
Care Today. Clinicians for Tomorrow.
Through our nonprofit and clinical training initiatives, we hope to build a bridge between community need and professional development—providing greater access to mental health resources while helping train compassionate, culturally responsive clinicians who can continue serving diverse communities for years to come.
This is only the beginning. As our nonprofit programming continues to develop, we look forward to expanding our community partnerships, training opportunities, educational programs, and accessible mental health services.
