Associate Mental Health Therapist (Part-Time/Full-Time, Hybrid)

Position Summary
Hermosillo Family Therapy, Inc. is seeking a clinically strong, reliable, and professional Associate Mental Health Therapist to join our private practice in a part-time or full-time, hybrid role. This position is best suited for associates who are self-directed, comfortable managing a caseload, and committed to consistent availability, particularly during high-demand hours.
This role is not an entry-level training position. Candidates should be ready to provide therapy with appropriate autonomy under supervision in a private practice setting.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, couple, family, and/or group therapy in telehealth and in-person settings.

  • Deliver specialized services including child & family counseling, grief counseling, addiction counseling, chronic pain counseling, and gender issues counseling.

  • Support patients with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs through tailored interventions such as behavior management and social work practices.

  • Complete intake assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans independently using ICD-10.

  • Apply evidence-based interventions (CBT, psychodynamic, behavioral approaches, etc.).

  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with mental health best practices and ICD coding updates.

  • Respond appropriately to clinical risk and crisis situations, consulting with supervisors as needed.

  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in accordance with HIPAA and practice standards.

  • Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and professional communication.

  • Actively participate in weekly individual (and group) supervision.

  • Engage in ongoing training and feedback to strengthen clinical skills.

Required Availability (Non-Negotiable)

  • Therapists are expected to complete a minimum of 15 patient sessions per week

  • At least 1–2 afternoon/evening shifts (after 3:00 PM)

  • At least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday)

  • Ability to maintain a consistent weekly schedule

  • This is a Hybrid position (Minimum of 2 Days in Office).

 

Applicants without the above availability will not be considered.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have at least 1,000+ hours toward licensure

  • Active California BBS registration as an AMFT, ACSW, or APCC (required)

  • Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Counseling, or related field

  • Prior experience providing therapy to clients (at least 1 year of experience in providing therapy post-graduation required)

  • Experience working with children, pediatrics, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable

  • Excellent communication skills for individual/group therapy sessions and interdisciplinary collaboration

  • Ability to manage a caseload with minimal administrative prompting

  • Strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, and ethical decision-making

  • Comfort working with diverse populations

  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and electronic health records

  • Compassionate approach with a focus on patient-centered care; sensitivity to gender issues and cultural diversity is preferred.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred, not required.

  • Prior experience in a private practice setting is highly preferred, not required.

Compensation

  • $35.00 – $45.00 per session (clinical hours)

  • Paid Supervision provided
