About Viridiana
Introduction
Hello! My name is Viridiana Cristal Hernandez Gonzalez. I am a Salvadoran American and a bilingual therapist fluent in Spanish and English. I am also the oldest daughter, a caregiver, and the first in my family to earn a master’s degree. These lived experiences have shaped my understanding of family, culture, identity, responsibility, and the many roles we may carry throughout our lives.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 10 years of experience in community mental health, I have had the privilege of supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families through a wide range of life experiences. My work has included using play-based interventions with children, helping teens and adults navigate life transitions, and working alongside families who want to strengthen their relationships and build deeper connections.
I support clients experiencing grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting challenges, relationship difficulties, life stressors, immigration-related fears, and housing instability, as well as those who may simply be looking for a space to better understand themselves and what they are experiencing.
My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your experiences with curiosity and self-compassion. I approach therapy from a client-centered, collaborative, and humanistic perspective, recognizing that you are the expert on your own experiences. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor our work to each individual and family's unique needs, identities, strengths, and experiences.
Together, we can work toward a deeper, more compassionate understanding of yourself, stronger relationships, navigating life's challenges, and meaningful change.
I am also certified in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and provide dyadic therapy to support young children and their caregivers. Through this work, I help families strengthen the caregiver-child relationship, process difficult or traumatic experiences, and foster connection, safety, and healing.
Therapy available in English and Spanish.
