Brian
Introduction
Hello!
My name is Brian, and I am a bilingual (English and Spanish speaking) Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I earned my Master of Science degree in Marital and Family Therapy from California State University of Dominguez Hills. I was raised in the Los Angeles County area and take pride in giving back to the communities I grew up in by providing mental health support for 7+ years to date. I am an advocate for mental health awareness, community-based support, education, and self-expression.
I have experience facilitating individual and group therapies with children (ages 3-12), adolescents (ages 13-17), adults (ages 18+), and families (couples, nuclear/extended, or blended). I have worked with a diverse client population throughout my career, and I prioritize establishing a respectful, collaborative environment to discuss the most important aspects of a person’s identity. In addition, I use Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Art Therapy, and Play Therapy.
Furthermore, I specialize in working with:
• Neurodivergent individuals (Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Trisomy 21/Down Syndrome)
• People with disabilities (in association with a clinical diagnosis/medical condition)
• Anxiety and depression
• Social relationships and bullying
• Confidence and self-esteem issues
• Self-care and independent daily living skills
• LGBTQIA+
• Family dynamic challenges
• Trauma (generational, specific triggers/stressors, PTSD)
• Major life changes/impacts (work-related, family, relocation, grief and loss)
Aside from reading these details of my career experience, I also view myself as a passionate, motivated, and enthusiastic individual. I prioritize professionalism and safety in this field of work. I am here to bring my authentic self, create a supportive atmosphere, be a positive role model, and successfully accompany you in this journey.
