About
Dra. Hermosillo
Introduction
Hola, and welcome!
My name is Dra. Desirée Hermosillo, PsyD, LMFT, I am the Founder and CEO of Hermosillo Family Therapy, Inc. I am a bilingual Latina Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with nearly a decade of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through their mental health journeys. I am also a Psychological Associate, having completed all my required hours, and I am on the path to becoming a licensed psychologist.

My career began working with foster and adopted youth in a Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP), which gave me a deep appreciation for the resilience of young people and their families. From there, I expanded into school-based programs, working closely with high school students and their loved ones. Over the years, I’ve gained extensive experience addressing a wide range of concerns, including:
-
Depression and anxiety
-
Trauma (immigration, abuse, abandonment) and PTSD
-
Self-harm and suicidal ideation
-
Life transitions (work, school, identity, relationships)
-
Grief and loss
I specialize in working with Latino/a individuals and families, while also welcoming clients from all backgrounds and cultures. My work often draws on attachment theory, psychodynamic theory (exploring how past experiences shape present-day patterns), and I integrate CBT and DBT approaches to support lasting change.

At the heart of my practice is a client-centered and trauma-informed approach. This means I honor your unique story and goals, without imposing an agenda. My role is to create a safe, judgment-free space where you can show up as your authentic self. I value open communication, active listening, and honesty; even if that means recognizing when I may not be the right fit for your needs.

Whether you are navigating personal challenges, relationship struggles, or simply seeking greater clarity and growth, I am here to walk alongside you with compassion and respect.
